Three prominent Mumbai celebrities, including comedian Kapil Sharma, actor Rajpal Yadav and choreographer Remo D’Souza, have reportedly received death threat emails. According to police sources, these threatening messages also target their families and close associates.
Rajpal Yadav has formally filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police, while Sugandha Mishra and Remo D’Souza have also filed a complaint on the same issue. Based on the complaint of Rajpal Yadav’s wife, Amboli police has registered an FIR against an unknown person under section 351(3) of BNS.
Police have started investigation and initial findings suggest that the threat emails came from Pakistan. The sender via email address don99284@gmail.com identified himself as “Vishnu” in the email signature. The contents of the email claimed that the sender was tracking the recent movements of celebrities.
“We are closely monitoring your recent actions,” the email reads. We believe it is important to bring a sensitive matter to your attention. This is not a public stunt or an attempt to harass you. We request that you take this message seriously and maintain confidentiality.
The email further warned that if the sender’s demands were not met, there would be serious consequences. It demanded a response within eight hours, warning that non-compliance would have “dangerous consequences” on both professional and personal lives.
