Odisha can become its center to carry forward the electrical whichell’s campaign in India. A large reserves of lithium have been found in Nayagarh, Odisha. The discovery of the huge reserves of lithium in Nayagarh, Odisha has filled geological scientists with enthusiasm. After this discovery of the Geological Survey of India (GSI), it is believed that this can promote India’s EV battery production. India’s dependence on imports may decrease. AI and drone are being used for further research. Reports of Geological Surveys said that there is a presence of valuable lithium stores in Nayagarh district of Odisha. Earlier, in February 2023, the Geological Survey of India (GSI) had confirmed the reserves of lithium in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. Lithium is called white gold (white gold) because of its color.
Currently monopoly of China
Currently, China has a monopoly in the production of lithium battery. Bolivia, Argentina, America, Chile, Australia and China are beyond India in terms of lithium storage. The Geological Survey of India (GSI) has concluded the presence of valuable lithium. This conclusion has come up at a time when the central government is giving priority to the discovery of important minerals to promote the self -sufficiency of the nation in the areas. GSI is using drones as well as Artificial Intelligence (AI) to detect valuable mineral resources such as lithium and copper. A pilot project has been started in Mayurbhanj district. Which is already home to many valuable minerals. After Mayurbhanj, the government is also planning to conduct mining survey in southern Odisha. This includes Kandhamal and Malkangiri districts. Little of India’s Domestic Electric Vehicle (EV) battery production has arisen by finding lithium in Nayagarh of Geological Survey (GSI).
Technological progress in mining work: GSI is surveying mineral reserves in Odisha using the latest techniques. Union Mines Secretary VL Kanta Rao said that GSI is using drone as well as AI. He said that the use of drone -based technologies has made the survey work easier and intensified. Two projects have been started on practical basis in Rajasthan and Mayurbhanj district of Odisha.
Odisha’s mining work ideal for the whole country: VL Kanta Rao said that the mining work of Odisha has become an ideal for the whole country. He said that Odisha contributes about 50 percent of minerals in the country. He also said that mineral survey activities will be intensified in those districts where mining work has been closed for many years.
Conference of Mines Ministers: In the 64th meeting of the Central Geological Programming Board (CGPI), VL Kanta Rao emphasized the important role of the forum in promoting cooperation and furthering geology. He also underlined the major initiatives of the Ministry of Mines, which in line with ‘Critical Mineral Mission’ and two recent recent budgetary announcements on offshore mining.
Odisha country mining capital
Commenting on the mining of Odisha, Secretary of Ministry of Mines L.K. Kantha Rao said that by supplying about 50% of India’s minerals, Odisha has strengthened its position as the country’s mining capital. Apart from lithium, there have been reports of gold reserves being found in several districts including Deogarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj in Odisha. The Geological Survey of India (GSI) has been involved in the discovery of these minerals. Meanwhile, the initial meeting of the Geological Survey of India (GSI) has started in Bhubaneswar, which is preparing a platform for the upcoming two -day summit of mining ministers in Konark.
