Municipal elections in Chhattisgarh will be held in one phase. For this, the nomination process will start from 22nd January i.e. today. From today, candidates will be able to submit their nominations before the Returning Officer or Assistant Returning Officer.
The last date for filing nomination has been kept as 28th January. Nominations will not be submitted on 25th and 26th January. Voting will be held in the constituencies of the civic bodies on February 11. The results will be declared after counting the votes on 15th February. Municipal body elections will be completed in 25 days. Let us tell you that in the 2025 civic elections, elections will be held for 10 Municipal Corporations out of 14 Municipal Corporations, 45 Municipal Councils out of 54 Municipal Corporations and 114 Nagar Panchayat Presidents out of 124 Municipal Corporations of the state.
1290 polling stations made in Raipur district
There will be a total of 1290 polling stations in urban bodies in Raipur district. There will be 1095 polling stations in 70 wards of Raipur Municipal Corporation. Whereas there will be 1378 polling stations for the three-tier Panchayat elections. Along with this, there will be 69 auxiliary polling stations in the urban body and 4 for the three-tier panchayat.
Total 10 lakh 36 thousand 79 voters in Raipur Municipal Corporation
The urban body is divided into 107 sectors and the three-tier panchayat is divided into 97 sectors. Talking about the number of voters, a total of 10 lakh 36 thousand 79 voters will cast their votes in Raipur Municipal Corporation. There will be 11 returning officers in the municipal elections. At the same time, 5 returning and 74 assistant returning officers have been appointed in the Panchayat. He further said that the list of polling stations will be published by January 27. The election symbol will be published by 6th February.
