Encounter continues between security forces and Naxalites in the forests of Gariaband district of Chhattisgarh. Where soldiers have killed 14 Naxalites so far. In this connection, bodies of two more Naxalites have been recovered during the search. Security forces have also recovered 1 AK47 automatic weapon from the spot. SP Nikhil Rakhecha is leading the entire operation.
Fearing the operation by security forces, eight Naxalites have surrendered in Narayanpur. In which Kutul Area Committee’s intelligence in-charge Dilip Dhruva has also surrendered. Its surrender has dealt a big blow to the Maoists of Abujhmad division. Narayanpur ASP Robinson Gudiya confirmed that the idea of ’Maad Rescue Campaign’ is coming to fruition.

About 75 soldiers of Nuapada SOG of Odisha were involved in the operation in the encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Gariaband. 01 SOG jawan has been injured in the encounter and is undergoing treatment at Narayana Hospital Devendra Nagar Raipur. After handing over the dead bodies of 14 Naxalites to Chhattisgarh Police, all the SOG teams reached Nuapada safely. The SOG team did not take any Naxalite’s body to Odisha.
