ICC to follow ‘all attire guidelines’ for upcoming Champions Trophy

New Delhi
The Indian cricket team will follow ‘all attire guidelines’ put in place by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the upcoming Champions Trophy. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Devjit Saikia dismissed speculations by sharing that the board had objected to Pakistan’s name being written on the team’s official jersey. The Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan from 19 February.

India had refused to travel to Pakistan citing security concerns and will play all its matches in Dubai. Saikia said, ‘BCCI will follow every ICC rule related to attire during the Champions Trophy.’ He said, ‘Whatever other teams do regarding the rules related to ‘logo’ and attire, we will completely follow it.

Saikia, however, did not specify whether Indian captain Rohit Sharma would visit Pakistan to participate in ICC pre-tournament events including the captain’s press conference and official photo shoot. He said, ‘It is still not decided whether Rohit Sharma will go to Pakistan for ICC media programs or not.’
