High Court gives last chance to Congress MLA Arif Masood to present list of witnesses

The troubles of Congress MLA Arif Masood from Bhopal Central seat are increasing. Madhya Pradesh High Court has given him the last chance to present the list of witnesses. This case is related to the election petition filed by his BJP rival Dhruv Narayan Singh.

In fact, Dhruv Narayan Singh has accused Masood of hiding the information about the loan taken from SBI in the affidavit given to the Election Commission at the time of nomination. This matter came up for hearing in the High Court on Friday. The next hearing will be held on January 22.

In his petition, Dhruv Narayan Singh has accused Masood of hiding the information about the loan taken by himself and his wife from the Ashoka Garden branch of SBI. He did not give this information in the affidavit given to the Election Commission at the time of nomination. Masood had approached the Supreme Court against this petition. He had said that he never took any loan from Ashoka Garden branch of SBI. The Supreme Court has asked the MP High Court to examine the loan documents and ascertain their authenticity.

These issues were discussed in the last hearing

In the last hearing, the bench of Justice Vivek Aggarwal had decided to consider two issues. First, Masood gave wrong information in the affidavit given to the Election Commission. Second, the certified voter list of Bhopal Central Assembly constituency. The court had asked both the parties to present the list of witnesses in the case. During the hearing on Friday, the court has given Masood a last chance to present the list of witnesses. Now he will have to present his witness list in the court before the next hearing on January 22.

Masood has said that he did not take any loan from SBI. He took the matter to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has asked the High Court to examine the loan documents. The High Court is also considering all the main points in this case.
