Dehradun
Due to change in weather, there was light snowfall in Kedarnath. The entire district remained cloudy throughout the day, due to which the cold wave increased in the district. The weather changed once again in the morning, it remained cloudy throughout the day in the higher Himalayan regions of Kedarghati. Light snowfall occurred on the higher peaks including Kedarnath. Due to cloud cover in the lower areas, severe cold was felt. There was light sunshine at times during the day. Due to increasing cold, it had a direct impact on life. In the high altitude areas, people remained confined to their homes, while there was less movement of people in the markets also.

The weather took a turn, there was dense fog and cold wave started.
Roorkee: The weather changed in Shikshanagari on Saturday. There was dense fog in the atmosphere in the morning and cold wave also continued. Due to which the severe cold got dissolved in the weather. In such a situation, people remained packed in warm clothes to avoid cold. People were also seen warming their hands by lighting bonfires at various places. The weather remained cold throughout the day in the city on Saturday. Due to this, life was affected. There was dense fog in the city and surrounding areas in the morning. Along with this the cold wave also continued. Visibility remained very low due to fog. In such a situation, brakes were applied on the speed of vehicles. Due to extreme cold, people going to school, college and office also reached their destination shivering. Light sunlight emerged after 2 o’clock in the afternoon but disappeared after some time.
On the other hand, people were seen warming their hands by lighting bonfires on the roadside to protect themselves from the cold. Due to increasing cold, there was less crowding in the markets on Saturday. Due to change in weather patterns, a drop in the day temperature of the city was recorded on Saturday as compared to Friday. The maximum temperature dropped from 20.5 degrees Celsius to 18 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was recorded at 7.5 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, according to the information received from the Rural Agriculture Weather Service Project operated in the Water Resources Development and Management Department of the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, Haridwar district will remain partly cloudy till January 22. The weather will remain cold and dry.

Nainital weather remains pleasant with light clouds
Nainital: The weather of Sarovar Nagri remained pleasant with light clouds on Saturday. It was sunny most of the time. The weather department has predicted dry weather for the next three days. There were dense clouds in the sky in the morning in the city. As the day progressed, the mood of the weather kept changing. Along with this, light clouds started coming and going and due to the increase in temperature in the afternoon, sitting in the sun became unbearable. Dense clouds covered the area again in the evening. Due to which the cold increased and we had to resort to fire and heater. According to the forecast issued by the State Meteorological Department, Dehradun, the weather is likely to remain dry for the next three days, although clouds will keep coming and going. There is no possibility of snow and rain. Here on the weekend, tourists from different cities enjoyed the beautiful tourist places of the city along with the weather. There was movement of tourists throughout the day in the city’s tourist places Snowview, Zoo, Water Fall, Cave Garden and Himalaya Darshan. There was excitement in Mall Road also. Besides, tourists were also seen buying gifts in the markets. According to GIC Meteorological Centre, the maximum temperature was 19 and the minimum was 8 degrees Celsius. Humidity was maximum 81 and minimum 48 percent.

Changing weather increased cold in Bageshwar
Bageshwar: The weather kept changing throughout the day in the district. Due to which the cold has increased. The Himalayan villages are facing the most problems. There it starts snowing as soon as it becomes cloudy. Due to which the cattle farmers are most worried. It was cloudy since morning on Saturday. Due to clear sky at night, heavy frost fell. The temperature reached three degrees Celsius. People lit bonfires. People remained shivering from the cold till 11 o’clock. After that the game of sun and shade continued.
