Bijapur
An encounter is taking place between police and Naxalites in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. According to unconfirmed sources, news of 3-4 Naxalites being killed is coming out. It is being told that there is intermittent firing from both the sides. The encounter is going on in Pujari Kanker forest of South Bastar.
After receiving the news of the presence of Naxalites, the security forces are engaged in the search operation. To search and eliminate the Naxalites, the joint team of DRG Bijapur, DRG Sukma, DRG Dantewada, Cobra 204, 205, 206, 208, 210 and Central Reserve Police 229 battalions is continuously searching in the forests from 9 am.
Encounter continues between police and Naxalites in the forests during the search operation. There is intermittent firing from both sides. However, no news of any Naxalite encounter has come to light till now. There is a possibility that the security forces may kill a large number of Naxalites by night. Complete details of the encounter will be revealed only after the search operation is completed.
