Team India captured the T20 World Cup title in 2024 and with this the tenure of head coach Rahul Dravid ended. After which Gautam Gambhir was made the new head coach of Team India. Abhishek Nair became the assistant coach of Team India along with Gautam Gambhir, while former South African fast bowler Morne Morkel joined as the bowling coach. T Dilip remained the fielding coach of Team India, while Ryan ten Deschate was made the second assistant coach of Team India. During Dravid’s tenure, Vikram Rathore was the batting coach of Team India, while Paras Mhambrey was the bowling coach of Team India. The way the downfall of Team India is happening during the tenure of Gautam Gambhir, the news is coming that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is again searching for a batting coach for Team India. After a media spread, former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen openly made his availability known.

In response to a post on social media regarding the search for Team India’s new batting coach, Kevin Pietersen wrote, ‘Available!’ (Available!), The performance of the Indian team in recent times has been completely dependent on Jasprit Bumrah in bowling, while in batting apart from Yashasvi Jaiswal, no other batsman is able to do anything special.

After the continuous failure of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, it is being discussed that Team India currently needs a good batting coach. Talking about Kevin Pietersen, he is 44 years old and has played a total of 104 Tests, 136 ODIs and 37 T20 International matches for England. Pietersen has 8181, 4440 and 1176 runs in his account in all three formats respectively. Apart from this, he has also taken 10, 7 and one wicket in all three formats.
