In Ujjain city, the Municipal Corporation has started the tender process for the widening of six roads in the city. In this, the first road from Koyla Gate to Gopal Mandir road will be widened. A tender worth Rs 14.99 crore has been issued for this. The last date for submission of tender has been kept as 11th February.

Under Simhastha 2028, the government has approved the widening of six roads in the city. Recently, the corporation had started marking the two roads to be widened, whereas now a tender has been issued to widen the 1.80 km road from Koyla Phatak to Gopal Mandir via Chhatri Chowk. This road will be widened by 15 meters.

The cost of the tender has been kept at Rs 14 crore 99 lakh 75 thousand 456 including 18 percent GST. In this, the tender taker will have to do other works including removal of buildings on the route, construction of cement concrete road, street light, path-way, electric line sheathing, development work of coal gate, Kanthal intersection and Chhatri Chowk, laying of drinking water line on the entire route. A period of 730 days has been kept for road construction.

The busiest and most commercial route of the city
The road from Koyla Phatak to Chhatri Chowk and Gopal Mandir is the busiest road in the city. This entire area is commercial. The road widening will be from Koylafatak to Chhatri Chowk and Gopal Mandir via Nijatpura, Narendra Talkies, Kanthal, Satigate. About 11 religious places are coming on this route.

tender has been issued
A tender has been issued for widening the road from Koylafatak to Gopal Mandir via Chhatri Chowk. After the tender is approved, the widening work will be completed in about 730 days.- Piyush Bhargava, Executive Engineer, Municipal Corporation.

These roads will be wide
-From the train station via VD Cloth Market to KD Gate, Juna Somwariya and Bade Bridge, length – 2.24 km, amount – Rs 32 crore.

-VD Cloth Market till Chhoti Puliya via Teliwada Dhabroad. Length-1.80 km, Amount- 26.86 crores.

-From Jiwajiganj to Ganesh Chowk via Khajurwali Masjid, Abdalpura, Rabidranath Tagore Marg. Length- 0.75 km, Amount- 9.80 crores.

-From exit to Kanthal intersection road (Now this road is to be widened till Indore Gate.)

-Gadapulia, from Ravi Shankar Nagar to Lalpul via Jaisinghpura. , Length- 2.30, Amount- 21 crores

(Apart from this, the road from Gail intersection to Peshwai intersection via Shantinagar and from Hanuman Naka to Harifatak Bridge will be 60 feet wide. Both the roads have also been included in the widening of Simhastha.)
