After the defeat against Australia, BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has taken a big decision. Now strict rules have been made for the cricketer’s family. Under the new rules, if a tournament is of 45 or more days then the family will be allowed to stay with the players for only 14 days, and if the tour is of less days then it can be 7 days.
Under the new rules, wives cannot stay with the players during the entire tournament. The family can stay together only for 2 weeks. All players will have to travel in the team bus.
Gautam Gambhir’s personal manager will also not be allowed to sit in the VIP box or team bus. They will have to stay in some other hotel. If the players’ luggage is more than 150 kg then BCCI will not pay the extra luggage fee given to the players.
After poor performance in the Test series against Australia and New Zealand, the Indian team will first play T20 and then ODI series against England. After that he has to participate in the Champions Trophy in the month of February.
India was in bad shape during Australia tour
In the recently concluded five-match Border Gavaskar Test series against Australia, Team India had to face a shameful defeat of 1-3. Because of this the Indian team could not even qualify for the World Test Championship. This was the reason why the Indian team failed to qualify for the WTC final for the first time in three seasons of the World Test Championship.
The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team surrendered the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) to Australia last Sunday after a decade. Earlier, Team India had to face 0-3 defeat against New Zealand at home. Due to these two setbacks, India missed playing the final of the World Test Championship.
Kohli scored 190 runs in 5 test matches of BGT at an average of 23.75. Whereas Rohit Sharma was in very bad condition with the bat. Rohit Sharma could score only 31 runs at 6.20 in 3 matches.
Team’s weaknesses visible in Border-Gavaskar Trophy
Recently, in the 3-1 defeat against Australia in BGT, one thing was clearly visible that the players of the Indian cricket team become weak in front of the ‘red ball’. Shot selection was careless, as a result Rishabh Pant was getting out repeatedly by playing risky strokes. The batsmen were making the same mistakes again and again. Kohli was not able to play the balls outside the off-stump. The bowlers were not ready to bowl long spells.
Siraj was often losing rhythm and Harshit Rana was struggling to maintain the pace. Overall, there was a lack of acceptance of the Test nature among the players. Gill was seen trying to come out of the crease. Whereas Rohit Sharma was seen hitting strokes in the beginning of his innings.
