Tension with India has been increasing since the removal of Sheikh Hasina’s government in Bangladesh. India has expressed objection several times regarding the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. Now tension has increased between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and BSF on the border. Generally there was peace on the border of India and Bangladesh. However, there are reports of tension due to infiltration and barbed wire fencing. Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry of Bangladesh has summoned Indian High Commissioner Prannoy Verma regarding the tension on the border.

Recently, a BGB commander had claimed that the Bangladeshi Army had captured an area of five kilometers along the banks of the Godalia river. After this statement a situation of tension was created. After this, a flag meeting of BGB and BSF officials was called. BSF said that the BGB officer had given a misleading statement. BSF rejected those claims outright.
