The family members of the patients admitted in various wards of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital will not have to visit the pathology lab for blood test. Now for pathological examination of all the patients admitted in the ward, their blood samples will be collected in the ward and sent to the patholab by the ward boy and after the examination, the blood report will be collected and given to the on-duty nurse in the concerned ward.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, quality health facilities are continuously expanding in Chhattisgarh. In this sequence, on the instructions of Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, the management has taken a big decision for the inpatient patients admitted in Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital.
Ambedkar Hospital Superintendent Dr. Santosh Sonkar said that initially medicine mail ward no. 8 and 9 and medicine female ward no. This system has been started for patients admitted in classes 10 and 11. Once this system of sample collection system is gradually implemented in all the wards, the patients will get the biggest relief and their attendant will also not have to go to the pathology lab with the blood sample for testing. They will also get the report on time.
It may be noted that more than 950 patients are admitted every day in the 1340-bed Ambedkar Hospital. Every day about 260 new patients are admitted to the Inpatient Department (IPD). The number of patients coming to the Out Patient Department (OPD) of various departments here is around two to two and a half thousand every day. Apart from OPD, there is provision for blood tests and radiology tests 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for emergency patients.
