Mamata government will not implement this central scheme in Bengal due to reasons given in the meeting with Shivraj Singh

Kolkata
The Mamata Banerjee government of Bengal has decided not to implement another central scheme in the state. According to information received from sources, State Agriculture Minister Shobhandev Chattopadhyay has clearly told Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan that instead of implementing the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme, his government will continue the Chief Minister Krishak Bandhu and Farmers Insurance Scheme. It is known that the Union Agriculture Minister had held a virtual meeting with the Agriculture Ministers of all the states last Saturday. Sources said that Shobhandev, who attended the meeting, said that Chief Minister Krishak Bandhu and Krishak Bima Yojana have more acceptance among the farmers of the state. Under these, they are also provided more money than the central scheme and all the expenses are borne from the state government funds.

Said- Many states have not implemented
He said that the budget of Bengal for agriculture sector is Rs 9,800 crore. The funds provided by the Center for various schemes are less than five percent of this. While talking about continuation of the schemes of the state government, he argued that even states like Gujarat, Bihar, Telangana, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh and Punjab have not yet implemented the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme in their states.

Financial assistance is given to farmers
It is known that under the Chief Minister Krishak Bandhu Scheme, financial assistance is provided to the farmers, which includes assistance of Rs 10,000 for two crops per year. Under the Krishak Bima Yojana, insurance coverage is provided to farmers, which includes assistance up to Rs 2 lakh in case of death or disability. Let us tell you that the Bengal government has not yet implemented the Ayushman Bharat scheme in the state. Instead, it is running its ‘Swasthya Sathi Scheme’. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is also being run under a changed name in Bengal. For this reason the Center has stopped funds for the said scheme.
