State government-run bus services, which were stopped two decades ago, will be restarted for the people of Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced to start the bus facility. The Chief Minister was addressing a public program in Lateri town of Vidisha district. He said that the poor need bus services. Rich people have their own cars.
According to PTI report, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said, “Remember the situation 20 years ago. State Transport Corporation buses used to run on the roads. There is a need again for the bus services of the Transport Corporation. We are going to restart government bus services.” However, he did not give the time limit for starting the bus. Let us tell you that government bus services were stopped in Madhya Pradesh two decades ago. After the bus closure, the routes have been taken over by private operators. Bus services in big cities are operated by municipal corporations. It is noteworthy that public transport service is cheaper for poor people.
Government buses will run again on the roads of Madhya Pradesh
With the operation of government buses, the people of Madhya Pradesh will start getting basic facilities. Madhya Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation, formed to provide affordable and accessible transport facilities to the general public, was closed in 2005. Therefore, the public transport system completely collapsed. Passengers started facing a lot of problems. Private operators took over the transport system. Private bus operators started providing services on profitable routes. Passenger bus facility disappeared in rural areas. Seeing the inconvenience of the passengers, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced to start government buses.
