On the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, approval has been given for construction of a new building with a capacity of 200 beds in Korba Medical Hospital. In order to expand health facilities, the efforts of Commerce, Industry and Labor Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Dewangan have borne fruit. Now a total amount of Rs 43.70 crore has been approved for the construction of a new building with 200 bed capacity in Medical Hospital Korba.
With the construction of this building, the bed capacity in the medical hospital will increase to 650. Apart from this, funds have also been approved for other development works of the present hospital building. It is noteworthy that when the District Hospital was acquired and affiliated to the Medical College Korba, the hospital had the facility of 100 beds. The management had increased the bed capacity to 300 under the guidelines of NMC. For this, additional beds were installed in the old building of the hospital, the casualty building and the trauma center. For a long time there was a demand for construction of a hospital building with 200 beds in the hospital premises. A demand letter for this was also sent by the hospital management. Taking cognizance of the increasing number of patients and the problems being faced, Industries Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan had sent a proposal to the state government for its approval in the budget. Due to the efforts of Minister Shri Dewangan, a total of Rs 43 crore 70 lakh was approved by the state government for the construction of a hospital building with 200 bed capacity and other facilities.
There will be 50 beds in the critical care unit.
A 50-bed critical care unit will also be constructed in the district hospital premises for the treatment of serious patients. Apart from this, 100 bed capacity will also be constructed in Medical College Hospital at a cost of Rs 3.5 crore under CSR head. Chhattisgarh Housing Board has been made the implementing agency for this. Through SECL, a 60-bed night shelter will be constructed for the family members to stay.
Two OT rooms will start in the orthopedic department
The orthopedic department of the Medical College Hospital is going to be expanded very soon. On the instructions of Minister Shri Dewangan, equipment installation will soon take place in two operation theater rooms on the second floor of the Trauma Center building. After this, operations can be done simultaneously in both the operation theatres. At present the load on the only operation theater in the old building is high.
All departments of the hospital will be equipped with all facilities –
Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Dewangan said that work is being done to provide all the facilities to every department of the Medical College Hospital. Along with increasing the bed capacity, the arrival of specialist doctors will provide better facilities to the people of the district. The people of the district have expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister of the State Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Commerce and Industry Minister, Finance Minister and Health Minister for the approval of Rs. 43 crores.
