Higher Education, Technical Education and AYUSH Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar said that for the overall development of students and increase in quality in colleges, make an action plan for the next three months and ensure the use of the available budget as per the actual need. Minister Shri Parmar was reviewing the Higher Education Department in the Ministry on Monday. Additional Chief Secretary Shri Anupam Rajan, Commissioner Higher Education Shri Nishant Barbade and other officials were present in the meeting.
Minister Shri Parmar said that the examinations of students should be conducted in government institutions only. He directed to make a comprehensive action plan and ensure its implementation to maintain the integrity of the examinations. Shri Parmar said that efforts should also be made to ensure participation of former students in the overall development of colleges. Shri Parmar said that maximum efforts should be made to ensure that all eligible students are benefited from departmental scholarship schemes.
Higher Education Minister Shri Parmar discussed in detail various points related to the interests of the students and gave necessary guidelines. In-depth review of the budget allocation for the financial year 2024-25, status of expenditure and departmental preparations for the budget of the coming financial year was conducted. Shri Parmar has completed various construction and improvement works in colleges on time for overall development of college students, better study-teaching, improvement in educational and academic quality by utilizing available budget as per requirement for upgradation and repair of laboratories etc. in colleges. Minister Shri Parmar held a comprehensive discussion regarding rationalization of admission capacity of colleges, number of students admitted and available seats and gave instructions for implementation as per the infrastructure available in the colleges. He has asked to review the status of law colleges and the operation of professional colleges and prepare a comprehensive action plan as a policy for progressive quality improvement.
Minister Shri Parmar reviewed the preparations for the admission of students in the session 2025-26 and asked to make the “College Chalo Abhiyan” successful and gradually increase the gross enrollment ratio. Shri Parmar did a detailed review of the current status of online mode of departmental activities and the upcoming action plan and gave necessary instructions. He asked to organize alumni programs of the former students of the colleges and make a comprehensive action plan to get them involved in the development of the respective college.
Shri Parmar gave instructions for implementation along with a comprehensive action plan to create a state level data center for students “Vidya Samiksha Kendra”. Talked about preparing a “Teacher Training Policy” for a fixed period of time, with a combination of both online and offline mediums. He had a comprehensive discussion regarding increasing the faculty at the undergraduate level and starting post-graduate classes in colleges. Shri Parmar also discussed various scholarship schemes and issues related to public servants and gave necessary guidelines. Shri Parmar asked to complete the process of completion of the probation period of the public servants deprived of their probation period within the stipulated time as per the rules. Shri Parmar also asked the departmental officers to complete the process of giving charge of higher posts as per all the parameters within the stipulated time. He instructed to take prompt action on pending court cases related to the department. Shri Parmar, after getting information about filling up of posts in colleges and universities, also asked to complete the process of filling up the vacant posts within the stipulated time.
