Former Australian captain Mark Taylor’s statement has also come to light on the issue of ‘drop or opt’ from Rohit Sharma’s Sydney Test match. He has clearly said that dropping Rohit Sharma is not a crime because his form has been very bad. Mark Taylor has also claimed that even though the team management is not accepting the fact that he has been dropped, but the truth remains because no captain keeps himself out in the deciding match of the series. At present Australia is leading 2-1 in the series.
Former Australia captain Mark Taylor said that a captain does not decide to stay out of a decisive Test and Rohit has been dropped due to poor form. Mark Taylor said on ‘Triple M Cricket’, “This is like deviating from the issue once again.” The captain of any team does not rest or keep himself out for the last test of the series. That too in the decisive test. There is no doubt that he has been thrown out. They’re not just telling. This does not mean that he is out forever. He is simply out of this Test match because of his poor form and that is not a crime. Unfortunately, this is a professional sport.
The Boxing Day Test match played in Melbourne was being said to be Rohit Sharma’s last Test and now it seems to be proving true. Jasprit Bumrah was seen as the captain for the Indian team in the Sydney Test match. Rohit Sharma was not even in the team sheet. India’s next Test is in June. Even if the Indian team reaches the WTC Final 2025, the match will start from June 11. In such a situation, he will not play red ball cricket for the next 6 months. Rohit Sharma has been continuously failing in Test cricket and that is why he is now out of the Test team.
