Bribery has become a big problem in Madhya Pradesh. Cases of bribery keep coming to light every day. In such a situation, the Lokayukta team is also accelerating its efforts to crack down on the corrupt. In the last three months, the Lokayukta team has taken maximum action in the state as compared to the last three years.
While a total of 238 actions have been taken in the year 2024, in just three months from 25th September to 31st December, 120 actions were taken, in which only 95 cases of trap alone have been registered. Investigation is also being done on the large number of complaints received.
Indore, Jabalpur top in trap action
If we talk about divisions in terms of Lokayukta’s trap action, then Indore division is at the top. Here, 53 actions have been taken in the year 2024, which is the highest compared to other divisions of the state. Jabalpur is at second place, where 42 actions have been taken.
Officers will not be able to stop files of corrupt people
For your information, let us tell you that now in Madhya Pradesh, officers will not be able to hold the files of corrupt people for a long time on the pretext of investigation. Not every file will be sent to the government. The government has given the power to sanction prosecution only to the appointing officer. Even fixed the timeline for giving permission. Orders have been issued in this regard. It is said in the order that if the appointing officer finds in the examination that the case deserves sanction for prosecution, then he will have to issue sanction within 45 days.
