Taking action against illegal scrap transportation in the district, police have arrested two accused. In the action, scrap worth around Rs 2 lakh has been seized from the accused.
first action
On December 28, based on the information received from the informer, the police team stopped a Mazda vehicle (number CG11BM-6416) near Salasar Chowk. During investigation, 4 tonnes 500 kg of scrap was found in the vehicle, the estimated value of which is ₹ 1.41 lakh. Vehicle driver Pardeshi Yadav (32 years), resident of Chhindmuda, District Sakti, could not present any valid document related to the scrap.
second action
On December 29, police stopped Tata Mazda (number CG13AR-1693) in village Gerwani on the information of informer. 2 ton 120 kg junk was found in the vehicle, worth Rs 46,000. The driver of the vehicle, Namdhari Vishwakarma (32 years), resident of Raigarh, could not show valid documents for transporting the scrap.
Case registered against the accused
In both the cases, the police have seized a total of 6 tonnes 620 kg of scrap and two vehicles. Cases have been registered against both the accused in Kapitalpathra police station under Section 35(a)(e) BNSS/303(2) BNS.
