If the Sydney Test is drawn then India will be out of the race for the final. The final of the current cycle of WTC is to be played at the Mecca of cricket Lord’s from June 11-15 next year.

♦ If the series against Australia is drawn 2-2, India will finish at 55.26 percentage points. In such a situation, the Indian team will reach the finals only if Sri Lanka wins 2-0 in the two-match Test series against Australia at home.
♦ If the Indian team loses the series against Australia by 1-2, then it will be out of the final race with 51.75 percent marks.
Let us tell you that the South African team has already reached the finals. South Africa has 88 points from 11 matches with 7 wins, three losses and one draw. South Africa’s marks percentage is 66.67. Australian team is in second place. Australia has 118 points from 16 matches with 10 wins, four losses and 2 draws. His marks percentage is 61.46. India, currently at third position, has 114 points from 9 wins, 7 losses and 2 draws in 18 matches. India’s percentage of marks is 52.78.
New Zealand’s team is at fourth place with 48.21 percent marks, which is out of the race. On the other hand, the Sri Lankan team is at fifth position, but its chances of reaching the final are over. The Sri Lankan team has 45.45 percent marks and can reach the maximum of 53.85 percent marks. England is at sixth, Pakistan at seventh, Bangladesh at eighth and West Indies at ninth.
This is the third cycle of the World Test Championship, which will run from 2023 to 2025. ICC had already released the rules related to the points system for this third cycle. The team gets 12 points if it wins a test match, 4 points if the match is drawn and 6 points if the match is tied.
At the same time, 100 percent points are added for winning the match, 50 percent for tie, 33.33 percent for draw and zero percent for defeat. A total of 24 points are available in a two-match series and 60 points are available in a five-match series. Ranking in the points table is primarily determined on the basis of winning percentage.
