Passengers, aircraft movement to increase at Guwahati airport in 2024

Guwahati.
Guwahati-based Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) recorded ‘highest ever’ international passenger and aircraft traffic this year after Adani Group took over commercial operations. The company gave this information in a statement on Saturday. Adani Group started commercial operations of LGBIA from October, 2021.

The airport also recorded growth in domestic passenger traffic during the year and added new domestic destinations, the statement said. The facility handled 62.6 lakh domestic and over 85,000 international passengers. Of the domestic passengers, 30.9 lakh were arrivals and 31.7 lakh were departures. Additionally, among international passengers, 47,578 arrived and 38,528 departed.

LGBIA has direct flights to three international destinations – Paro, Malaysia and Singapore, which has led to a significant increase in international passenger numbers and air traffic movements (ATM). The airport handled 44,746 domestic and 970 international flights during the year.
