A Bangladeshi national has been arrested with fake documents from Park Street area of Kolkata. Police said that he was living in India illegally. He was trying to live here by making a fake identity card. At present, the police is also searching for those who made fake documents.
According to the agency, the arrested person is a resident of Narail district of Bangladesh. On Thursday, based on information in this case, he was caught from Collins Lane. Investigation revealed that he was living in a rented house in Khiddarpur area of Kolkata since the year 2023. According to the police, the accused had made a fake Aadhaar card, in which the address of North 24 Parganas was given.
Apart from this, the accused had also made a PAN card in his name. Police said that recently another Bangladeshi national was also arrested with fake documents from Marquis Street area near Park Street. Now the investigating agencies are searching for the gang making fake documents. The interrogation of the arrested persons is going on.
Earlier, Assam Police had arrested eight militants of a banned Islamic organization, two of whom were caught from Murshidabad district of West Bengal. This matter is raising concerns about illegal infiltration of foreign nationals and their activities in India.
Police say that this arrest will help in identifying other foreign nationals living illegally and eliminating the network of fake documents.
