New Delhi
The government on Saturday said that this year the registration of workers on the e-Shram portal has crossed 30 crore, which shows its rapid and wide adoption among unorganized workers. The e-Shram portal was launched on October 21 this year to provide unorganized workers access to various social sector schemes. The number of registrations is increasing rapidly and averaged 60,000 per day during October.

So far 12 social security/welfare schemes have been integrated and mapped with e-Shram. These include ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’, Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme, Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme, National Family Benefit Scheme and Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. The Ministry of Labor and Employment said, “This is an ongoing process, in which other schemes will also be integrated with e-Shram in a phased manner. “This platform allows agencies to use e-Shram data to verify eligibility of workers and target potential beneficiaries at the state and district level.”

e-Shram is sharing the details of people registered on e-Shram with all the states/UTs, so that workers can access the welfare schemes. Meanwhile, the National Career Service (NCS) has become a ‘one stop platform’ for all career-related services, including information on private and government sector jobs, online and offline job fairs, skill/training programmes, etc.

From January 1 to December 15, 1,89,33,219 vacancies were offered on the NCS portal, taking the total vacancies raised since inception to 3.89 crore. This year, the number of active vacancies crossed the peak of 20 lakh in a day, while an average of 15 lakh job opportunities are available on the NCS portal at any point of time, the ministry said.

A total of 11,451 foreign vacancies were posted on the NCS portal by registered agents of the Ministry of External Affairs. NSE has been integrated with the ‘MyBharat’ platform to provide a user friendly experience to youth, institutions and organizations.
