Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Madhya Pradesh tomorrow on the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects in Khajuraho.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Shri Modi will lay the foundation stone of Ken-Betwa River Linking National Project. This is the first river interlinking project of the country from the national perspective. This project will provide irrigation facilities in many districts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, which will benefit lakhs of farmer families. This project will also provide drinking water facility to the people of the area. Along with this, hydropower projects will contribute more than 100 MW of green energy. This project will create many employment opportunities and also strengthen the rural economy.
The Prime Minister will release a commemorative postage stamp and coin on the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of Shri Vajpayee. He will also lay the foundation stone of 1153 Atal Gram Sushasan buildings. These buildings will play an important role in the practical functioning of the functions and responsibilities of the Gram Panchayats for good governance at the local level.
In line with the commitment to promote energy self-reliance and green energy, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project established at Omkareshwar in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh. The project will reduce carbon emissions and contribute to the government’s mission of net zero carbon emissions by the year 2070. It will also help in water conservation by reducing water evaporation.
