BJP demands from hospitals of West Bengal, do not treat Bangladeshis, country comes first

Kolkata
Violence against Hindus continues in Bangladesh. Hindu temples are being targeted one after the other. This arrogance of Bangladesh is being opposed in India also. BJP workers protested at a private hospital in Mukundpur area of Kolkata, West Bengal, demanding that non-Hindu patients from Bangladesh should not be treated. The protesters handed over a memorandum to the hospital that said, “Country comes first… Our brothers and sisters are being tortured and killed there. Therefore, no medical treatment should be provided to non-Hindu Bangladeshis.”

According to media, the protesters from the hospital said that now is the time for us to put aside our morals and business for the sake of honoring our nation, the flag and the tricolour. We are saddened by what is happening to our minority Hindu brothers and sisters in Bangladesh. They are being tortured and killed. This should be stopped. Nation always comes first. Under the banner of ‘Salute Tricolour’, the protesters have vowed to expand their protest to include all private hospitals. He said they had already done so at another hospital. A 141-bed hospital in Kolkata had announced earlier this month that it would no longer admit patients from Bangladesh. According to the hospital, this step has been taken in protest against the alleged disrespect towards the Indian national flag amid the unrest in the country. Another hospital in Kolkata had also made a similar announcement as the Indian national flag has been desecrated at various places in the neighboring country.

Apart from hospitals in the West Bengal capital, Bangladeshi stalls have been missing from Kolkata’s two major fairs – the Kolkata International Book Fair and the Bidhannagar Mela Utsav, which is organized by the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) for the first time this year. The neighboring country also had no representation at the 30th International Film Festival in Kolkata due to visa problems. Apart from this, there was no participation from Bangladesh in the two-day Bengali Literature Festival organized at Bangladesh Bhawan of Visva-Bharati University.

ISKCON condemns killing of priest in Bangladesh
Meanwhile, the Kolkata unit of ISKCON on Saturday condemned the ‘murder’ of a Hindu priest, allegedly by Bangladeshi extremists, at a cremation ground temple in Natore, Bangladesh. ISKCON accused the neighboring country’s interim government of failing to protect religious minorities, who have been facing “continuous torture” since the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government. ISKCON Kolkata spokesperson Radharaman Das posted a video on ‘X’ and said, “Shocked to hear about the attack on the temple located at Kashimpur Central Crematorium in Natore, Bangladesh. Valuables were looted and temple servant Tarun Chandra Das was brutally murdered. His hands and legs were found tied. Even Hindu crematoriums are not safe.” According to Radharaman Das, the priest was probably tortured before being killed, as his hands and legs were tied.
