New Delhi
The fourth match of India vs Australia 5-match Border Gavaskar Test Series is to be played in Melbourne on 26 December. However, before this match, the difficulties of Team India are continuously increasing. First KL Rahul got injured and now there is news of captain Rohit Sharma getting injured during the practice session on Sunday. It has been learned that Rohit got injured in his left knee during practice. He was also seen applying an icepack to his injury. During this time the hitman was seen writhing in pain.
After getting injured, the Indian captain took off his gear and sat on a chair while the physio took out an ice pack. The pain was clearly visible on Rohit’s face when the pack was applied and later the physio placed Rohit’s left leg on a chair to make him comfortable. The injury did not look that serious and the physios are taking precautions to ensure that the swelling, if any, goes down. There is still some time left for the Boxing Day Test to start and Rohit is hopeful that the pain will go away. Rohit Sharma’s performance has been disappointing so far in this Border Gavaskar Trophy. Rohit could not participate in the Perth Test due to the birth of his second child, Jasprit Bumrah led the team in his place.
She joined the team in the Pink Ball Test played in Adelaide, sacrificing her batting order and decided to bat in the middle order. However, till now in the last two matches he has not been able to do anything special in the middle order. In the last two matches, 3,6 and 10 runs came from his bat respectively. The Gabba Test was a draw due to rain due to which he did not get a chance to bat in the second innings. If Rohit Sharma is out of the Melbourne Test, then Dhruv Jurel or Washington Sundar may get a place in his place in the middle order. If Rahul is out then Abhimanyu can replace him.
