Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Singh Patel said that the overall development of the village is our priority. He said that Panchayat buildings have been approved in all the 1153 Gram Panchayats without Panchayat buildings. Minister Patel said that a special committee will be formed to take decisions regarding the old dilapidated Panchayat buildings. He said that our aim is that no village panchayat remains without a building till the upcoming panchayat elections. Minister Patel met Panchayat representatives from across the state at his residence on Thursday.
Minister Patel said that priorities should be identified to make Panchayats self-reliant. He said that there should be a cremation ground in every Panchayat and special measures should be taken for the protection of cow progeny. Minister Patel directed to exercise caution and vigilance during plantation and prepare a concrete plan for regular monitoring. He asked all the representatives to give suggestions for building commercial complexes in Gram Panchayats.
Minister Patel said that all Panchayat representatives should make special efforts to remove encroachment on government lands, this will help the Panchayats in preserving the land. He assured to solve the sand related problems in the jurisdiction of Gram Panchayats on priority basis. He said that consideration is being given to equalize the cost of Kapildhara and community drinking water projects, so that the villagers can easily get the benefits. Minister Patel said that the MIS portal will be made more accessible for Panchayat Secretaries and GRS. He stressed on bringing transparency in work approval. Minister Patel said that if Panchayats become strong, the state will become strong. On this occasion, representatives of Sarpanch Sangh put forward various issues before Minister Patel.
