Krishna Verma, aged 12, of Bemetra town was suffering from a serious illness. He was found to be suffering from chronic kidney disease (CKD) stage 5, due to which he required immediate kidney treatment. His father Dinesh Verma, who works as a mechanic to support his family, was not financially capable enough to afford expensive treatment for his son. There are a total of 5 members in the family, including his two daughters.
Krishna’s condition was worsening day by day. This was an extremely difficult time for the family. The treatment required a large amount of money, but his financial condition left him helpless. Then he got information about Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme.
Under the guidance of Chief Medical and Health Officer, Bemetara, an amount of Rs 6 lakh 53 thousand was sanctioned for the treatment of Krishna Verma under this scheme. This amount proved to be a lifesaver for his treatment. Krishna’s kidney transplant was successfully completed in June 2024, and he is now completely healthy.
Krishna’s father Dinesh Verma felt deep relief on getting the benefit of this scheme. He said that if he had not received this financial assistance, it would have been impossible for him to get his son treated. He expressed deep gratitude towards Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and this scheme. He believes that this scheme not only gave a new life to his son, but also saved his family from financial crisis.
