With the aim of encouraging creative talent among school students, the 3-day National Children’s Color is being started from 20th December at Indira Manav Sangrahalaya located in Shyamala Hills, Bhopal. The National Children’s Color of the School Education Department encourages the creative talents of school children and provides diverse opportunities for expression. This festival is the bearer of the eternal culture of India. Unity in diversity is the specialty of Indian culture. Children from different provinces come here preserving their cultural uniqueness.

State level competitions in hair color will start at 10 am on 20th December. The Balrang function will be inaugurated by School Education and Transport Minister Uday Pratap Singh. In state level competitions, mainly cultural, literary, essay writing, painting and calligraphy competitions will be organized. In the state level competition, about one thousand children from 9 divisions will participate in various competitions.

On 21st and 22nd December, 15 thousand children from 17 states of the country including 5 union territories will participate in various competitions. There will be a folk dance competition in National Child Colouring. These include Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Sikkim, Goa, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, Karnataka, Haryana, Telangana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Jharkhand, Delhi, Chhattisgarh and Puducherry. A scout camp will also be organized in Indira Manav Sangrahalaya to strengthen the spirit of adventure and discipline among children. In these, children will perform in activities like Jungle Camp, River Crossing, Monkey Bridge, Commando Bridge, Watch Tower, Rock Climbing and Wall Rappelling.

Live exhibition focusing on Vision-2047

During Bal Rang from 20th to 22nd December, the material made by children will be displayed under the theme Vision-2047. There will also be an opportunity to see the diverse culture of the country in the exhibition. These include life skills, Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, Khelo India, food grains, employment through vocational education, space science and climate change.

Stalls of cuisines from different states will also be set up in Bal Rang. Along with this, an exhibition focusing on handicrafts will also be organized in the campus.

There will be many competitions in Bal Rang like extemporaneous speech, folk songs, classical dance, easy music, group folk dance, literary and cultural competitions of disabled people, Veda recitation, dance drama, yoga. Bal Rang events will be held on 20th, 21st and 22nd December from 9 am to 5 pm.
