‘Chanderi Eco Retreat’ is being launched from 18th December to experience the thrill of adventure and luxury glamping along with folk art and cultural activities in the famous historical town of Chanderi. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism, Culture and Religious Trusts and Endowments, Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi said that ‘Chanderi Eco Retreat’ is an effort to bring the historical and cultural city Chanderi prominently on the tourism map. Chanderi Eco Retreat will expose the tourists and visitors to the rich heritage, natural beauty and historical sites of Chanderi. This will not only provide employment and benefits to local craftsmen and businesses, but will also make Chanderi a center of attraction for tourists from India and abroad.
Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture and Managing Director Tourism Board Shiv Shekhar Shukla said that during the second edition of ‘Chanderi Eco Retreat’, an initiative has been taken to create women selfie points to connect tourists with the popular film locations of Chanderi. Tourists will be able to take selfies by visiting the locations where both parts of the blockbuster film Stree were shot. Along with this, art and craft market based on local art, food festival to taste the local cuisine, folk art and cultural events as well as exciting and adventurous activities are ready to give an unforgettable experience to the tourists.
All Season Tent City has been established by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board in collaboration with District Administration Ashoknagar and ‘Sun Set Desert Camp’. Here tourists will be able to experience luxury glamping. To know the history of Chanderi closely, “Heritage Walk” will also be organized, which will bring alive the amazing stories of the ancient forts, palaces and mosques of the city. Along with this, an in-house hospitality team will also be present during the “Chanderi Eco Retreat” to provide help and guidance to the guests during their Chanderi excursion.

During Chanderi Eco Retreat, tourists will get a chance to visit the country’s first craft handloom tourism village “Pranpur”. Pranpur village has a special identity for traditionally making the world famous Chanderi saree. Here tourists can not only buy Chanderi sarees but can also see the weaving of sarees. You can also enjoy the attractive interior and delicious dishes of the handloom café run by local women. Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board has developed ‘Craft Handloom Tourism Village’ in Pranpur, located 4 kilometers away from Chanderi, with the aim of preserving the art of weavers and craftsmen, providing market and training.
