New Delhi
The atmosphere remains tense at Khanauri border. Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is on fast unto death for the last 20 days, is not ready to break the fast. Julana MLA and wrestler Vinesh Phogat, who came to meet him, said that it is a big thing that he is fighting for us. Vinesh Phogat along with her husband Sombir Rathi reached Khanauri border to know about the well being of the farmer leader.

Phogat said that there is no greater sorrow than this. Dallewal is a strong-willed farmer leader. The government has left them in such a condition. We need them. There is a difference between talking and implementing. Today that old man is sitting there hungry, suffering from cancer and has also lost his wife, still he is fighting and struggling a lot for our future. This is a big thing. Let us tell you, Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav along with Director in the Union Home Ministry Mayank Mishra met the fasting farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal and talked to him.

While talking to journalists after meeting Dallewal, DGP Gaurav Yadav said that as per the instructions of the Supreme Court, we have come to provide immediate medical care to the fasting leader. The Supreme Court has acknowledged that Dallewal is a very important farmer leader and senior citizen. In such a situation, the government should ensure that they get medical facilities, because life is very important for farming issues. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s message has been conveyed to Dallewal. CM says that Dallewal’s life is precious.

He further said that ambulances and other equipment have been made available at the protest site and apart from the Punjab government, administrative officials are also in touch with the farmers. We are here to appeal to the farmers to accept medical care facilities on humanitarian grounds in coordination with the state government.

The DGP also said that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has opened channels with the central government and talks are being held to resume talks with the protesting farmers. Mayank Mishra, Director in the Home Ministry, said that he has come to listen to their demands as per the order of the Supreme Court.
