Modi pays tribute to Raj Kapoor on his 100th birth anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday bowed and paid tribute to the showman of Indian cinema Raj Kapoor on the occasion of his 100th birth anniversary.
Shri Modi wrote on social media platform X, “Today we are celebrating the 100th birth anniversary of the great filmmaker, visionary filmmaker, actor and evergreen showman Raj Kapoor! His talent has influenced generations and left an indelible mark on Indian and global cinema.” He wrote, “Raj Kapoor’s passion for cinema started at an early age and he worked hard to emerge as a great storyteller. His films were a blend of artistry, emotion and even social commentary. He conveyed the aspirations and struggles of common citizens to the common people.
The Prime Minister wrote, “Raj Kapoor was not just a film maker, but he also played the role of a cultural ambassador. While playing this role, he has worked to take Indian cinema to the whole world.” He said that today’s filmmakers can learn a lot from him, which will be remembered by future generations. I once again pay my tribute to him and remember his contribution to the creative world.
He wrote in another post, “Today Raj Kapoor’s songs and his characters are liked all over the world. He said that people remember his spontaneous work. Some characters of his films which people are unable to forget.”
It is noteworthy that the Kapoor family had recently met Mr. Modi and invited him for the celebrations organized on the 100th birth anniversary of Raj Kapoor. During this meeting, Shri Modi had mentioned the contribution of Raj Kapoor and said that Raj Kapoor was far ahead of his time. Through his stories, he established India as a ‘soft power’ among people around the world.
