Security forces attack on Naxalites, two Naxalites killed in Bijapur


Bijapur

Before Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Chhattisgarh, on Friday morning, security forces have killed two uniformed Naxalites in an encounter with Naxalites in Lendra forest of Basaguda police station area.

According to the police, after receiving information about the presence of a large number of Naxalites in Lendra area, a joint team of Central Reserve Force (CRPF), District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Bastar Fighters was sent on the operation.

As soon as they reached Lendra forest, the Naxalites started firing on the soldiers. After the retaliatory action of the soldiers, the Naxalites ran away from there. On searching the spot, the police found dead bodies of two uniformed Naxalites and automatic weapons. Bijapur SP Jitendra Yadav has confirmed the encounter.

After the encounter ended, when the spot was searched, 2 nos. 12 bore single shot guns, 1 nos. country made gun, wire, 5 kg tiffin bomb, printer, Naxalite uniform, literature and other Naxalite material were recovered from the spot. Identification of the Naxalites killed in the incident and other legal action is being taken by the Basaguda police station.

Platoon commander was killed in Munga two days ago
In Bijapur district itself, two days ago, the security forces had killed a uniformed Naxalite in an encounter in Munga forest. The slain Naxalite has been identified as Gangalur Area Committee Platoon Commander Pandu Madvi.
