The dream of a developed India is coming true under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The role of health sector is extremely important in realizing this dream, because only a healthy nation can become a prosperous and powerful nation. India is scaling new heights at the global level with its commitment towards innovation, technological development and quality improvement in healthcare services. In this direction, under the leadership of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the state has made unprecedented progress in the field of public health and medical education.
On one hand, there were only 5 government medical colleges in the state till the year 2003. Now 17 medical colleges are operational. Recently, 3 new medical colleges Neemuch, Mandsaur, Seoni were inaugurated with the blessings of Honorable Prime Minister Modi. The plan to start 8 government and 12 medical colleges on PPP mode in the next 2 years is under process. The state government is committed to establish a medical college for every district and we are making continuous efforts in this direction.
In the last one year, the foresight and determination of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has taken many historic initiatives in the health sector of the state. A provision of Rs 592.30 crore has been made for the state’s first Medicity and a new medical college in Ujjain. Approval has been given for the establishment of 13 government nursing colleges. 46,491 new posts have been created for health institutions. This step will not only strengthen health services but also provide new employment opportunities. The examination of about one lakh nursing students, which was pending for two years in the state, was conducted this year, due to which the doubts raised regarding their future have been resolved.
Providing best health services to every citizen of the state has been the priority of the Chief Minister. While on one hand the Prime Minister has expanded the Ayushman Yojana and made citizens above 70 years of age eligible for benefits under the scheme, on the other hand the Chief Minister has provided assistance to serious patients and accident victims of the state through “PMAir Ambulance Service”. Provided prompt and high medical assistance. The services of Heli Ambulance and Fixed Wing Flying Ambulance are strengthening the reach of health services both within and outside the State.
4.02 crore cards have been issued under Ayushman Bharat Niramayam Scheme in Madhya Pradesh. More than Rs 5599 crore has been paid. Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendras have also been opened in all the district hospitals of the state, through which medicines will be available to the patients at minimum rates.
The government established its first state neonatal and pediatric resource center in the pediatric department of Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal. The use of technology has been increased under the leadership of Dr. Mohan Yadav. Under the PM-Janman campaign, 74 mobile medical units were operated, which are providing health services in remote areas.
In this sequence, for the first time in the country, the facility of CAR-T-Cell Therapy for blood cancer patients in any government hospital has been made available at Maharaja Yashwantrao Holkar Medical College, Indore. For modern treatment of heart diseases, a 30-bed cardiac cath lab is being established in Jai Prakash District Hospital, Bhopal.
It is also an important initiative that M.R.I. While streamlining the services, MRI was installed in the district hospitals of 5 divisional headquarters of the state (Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior and Ujjain). Machines are being installed.
Madhya Pradesh ranks second in the screening of sickle cell anemia at the national level and the process of vaccination is also being started to protect adult patients suffering from this disease from serious infections. Keeping sensitivity towards pregnant women, the state government has now provided free sonography through private sonography centers under Janani Shishu Suraksha Yojana in those districts where sonography facility was not available for pregnant women.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Public Health and Medical Education Department has given a new direction to the state by adopting technology and innovation. The result of his foresight and efforts is that health services in the state have not only advanced technologically but are also becoming capable of reaching every citizen. Keeping pace with the Prime Minister’s goal of a developed India, the work done by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav to strengthen the health sector will establish Madhya Pradesh as a model state in the coming years.
