Notification of expenditure limit regarding urban body elections has been published in Chhattisgarh Gazette. In municipal corporations where the population is three lakh or more, the maximum limit of election expenditure has been fixed at Rs 8 lakh. Where the population is less than three lakh, it has been fixed at Rs 5 lakh.
The maximum expenditure limit has been fixed at Rs 2 lakh for Municipal Council and Rs 75 thousand for Nagar Panchayat. The state government has issued notification of expenditure limit in consultation with the State Election Commission.
