Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has heartily congratulated 18-year-old Dommaraju Gukesh of India for becoming India’s second and world’s youngest World Chess Champion by defeating Ding Liren of China in the final match of the World Chess Champion Ship-2024 held in Singapore.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that this historic achievement of Dommaraju Gukesh will continue to inspire countless Indian sports talents to bring glory to the country. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has given best wishes for Gukesh’s golden and bright future.
It is noteworthy that Chennai resident D. Gukesh has created history by winning this title at the age of 18 years, eight months and 14 days. He broke the record of Garry Kasparov, who won the title at the age of 22 years, 6 months and 27 days. Before Gukesh, India’s Vishwanathan Anand (2000–2002 and 2007–2013) was the World Chess Champion.
