Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has paid tribute to national poet Maithili Sharan Gupt on his death anniversary. Recalling the impact of his works on common life, Sai said that Maithili Sharan Gupt ji’s Khari Boli works, imbued with national and social consciousness, influenced a large section of the Indian society.
Considering the impact of his works during the freedom struggle, he was given the title of National Poet. He played an important role in establishing Khari Boli as a poetic language and inspired new poets to write poetry. Gupta ji was awarded many awards including Padma Bhushan for his classic literature. The Chief Minister said that Gupta ji’s works are an invaluable heritage of Indian literature which will continue to guide the new generation.
