Naxalites are reported to have suffered heavy losses in the ongoing encounter with security forces in the forests of Abujhmad on the border of Dantewada and Narayanpur. It is feared that a large cadre of Naxalites may have been killed in the firing from both sides that was going on since 3 o’clock in the night. Dantewada SP Gaurav Roy said that there is information about the presence of 40 to 50 big cadre Naxalites.
On information about the presence of 40 to 50 big cadre Naxalites, soldiers from Dantewada, Narayanpur, Kondagaon and Bastar districts have cordoned off the area. The soldiers had information about the presence of Naxalites of Indravati Area Committee. After the siege, heavy firing is going on continuously from both the sides since 3 am in the morning. Bastar IG Sundarraj P. has said that the Naxalites are likely to suffer huge losses. He said that intermittent firing is still going on. Searching is also going on. All the soldiers are safe. There is a possibility that senior cadre Naxalites may be killed.
