There are a total of 32 Waqf boards in the country, with some states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh having separate Shia and Sunni boards. Let us tell you that this is not the first case of Waqf Board forcibly taking over land. Even before this, complaints have been received against the board countless times in many states of the country. In the year 2022, a claim was made to take over the entire village along with the 1500 year old temple located in Tiruchenthurai village of Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. This information was given by Minority Minister Kiren Rijiju himself in the Parliament House. Kiren Rijiju said that this entire village with Hindu population had been declared Waqf property by the Waqf Board. Whereas, this village is 1500 years old. The biggest thing is that there is no history of Muslim population in this Hindu populated village. The temple has 369 acres of property in and around the temple.
