During his visit to Jodhpur, Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. On this occasion, he said that steps like surgical strike provide satisfaction to the soul of Sardar Patel. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed the incomplete resolutions.
Shah said that Congress tried to suppress the contribution of Sardar Patel, but now he has got due respect. The decision to honor Sardar Patel with Bharat Ratna and celebrate his birth anniversary at the national level has given a new recognition to his contribution.
Sardar Patel’s incomplete resolutions fulfilled
The Home Minister described the steps like removal of Section 370 and 35A, bringing Common Civil Code and ending Triple Talaq as fulfilling the dreams of Sardar Patel. He said that Modi government has played an important role in fulfilling the resolutions of Sardar Patel.
Sardar Patel’s contribution in the integration of princely states
Shah praised Sardar Patel, saying that without him the present form of India would have been impossible. He strengthened India by unifying the princely states. Recalling his role in the Jodhpur airbase and other national projects, Shah said Sardar Patel was never given due respect by the Congress, but the Modi government enshrined his legacy globally by building the “Statue of Unity”.
