Madhya Pradesh Police has decided to ban cash payment in petrol pumps and super markets from January 1, 2025. This step has been taken in view of complaints of embezzlement. Pachmarhi petrol pump has been exempted due to lack of internet.
In view of the complaints of embezzlement being received by Madhya Pradesh Police in petrol pumps and super markets, cash payment will be banned here. Instead, from January 1, 2025, only cashless payment will be taken. Incidents of embezzlement have come to light in petrol pumps of many units of Madhya Pradesh, forensic audit of which was conducted, in which one of the reasons for embezzlement was found to be cash transactions by the units and not maintaining accounts of the transactions.
Positive results of cashless payment
Cash transactions have been banned in the petrol pumps of Bhopal Police Unit from May 1, 2024, which has yielded successful results. This transaction will be stopped in Police Kalyan petrol pumps, Police gas refilling centres, LPG gas, super markets, cleaning arrangements of police premises and other activities where the annual turnover is more than Rs. 6 lakh.
Pachmarhi police petrol pump exempted
However, Police Petrol Pump located at Pachmarhi was exempted from this because mobile internet facility is limited there. Cash receipt will not be stopped in the petrol pump here, but all payments from the petrol pump will be made through cheque, digital medium only.
The review will be done on a daily basis by the nodal officer of the petrol pump there. ADGP Anil Kumar of Welfare Branch of Police Headquarters has issued instructions to all the District Superintendents of Police and fighters in this regard.
