Jabalpur Police was receiving information about prostitution in Choukse Yatri Niwas near Deendayal Chowk in Vijay Nagar for many days, but due to lack of concrete information, the police was avoiding raiding action. After this, Superintendent of Police (SP Jabalpur) Sampark Upadhyay planned to raid the prostitution den in a planned manner. This planning was also successful. The police action has now created a stir. Police officials said that our action will continue like this and the culprits will not be spared.
This is how the police carried out the action
As per the planning, the police personnel themselves went to the alert traveler’s residence posing as customers. Going there, the operator of Choukse Yatri Niwas finalized the deal by showing some photographs and after that the room rent was also fixed which was charged from Rs 2000 to Rs 5000.
After the deal was finalized, the police took action and caught five young men and five women in objectionable positions, along with which hotel operator Vijay Kumar Choukse was also arrested. Among the girls caught, three are from Jabalpur, one from Rewa and one from Damoh. It was also revealed that due to the commotion of the police raid, some girls managed to escape through the back route. The police have registered a case under sections of the Prostitution Act.
Prostitution dens are running at many places in small hotels of the city.
These days, many small hotels and prostitution centers are running in Jabalpur. CSP (Jabalpur) Bhagat Singh Gathoria said that this action will continue, the police will now keep a constant vigil in all the hotels and lodges and where any suspicious activity is seen, immediate action will be taken.
