TMC leader murdered during by-elections on 6 assembly seats of West Bengal

By-elections are being held on 6 assembly seats of West Bengal. A major incident has taken place in North 24 Parganas district adjacent to Kolkata during the by-elections. TMC (Trinamool Congress) leader has been shot dead in Jagdal area. Unknown miscreants have committed the crime. There has been a stir in the area after the murder of the TMC leader.

Murder took place 100 meters away from the police station
Police has given information about this. The deceased has been identified as Ashok Sha, former TMC president from Ward No. 12 of Jagdal. The miscreants opened fire on Ashok who was standing in front of a tea shop located a few hundred meters away from Jagdal police station. The miscreants also threw bombs at the TMC leader.

Police busy searching for killers
A senior police officer said Ashok was taken to the nearby Bhatpara Government Hospital, where he died. Police has started the investigation of the matter. He said that some other people were also injured in the attack and are undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Demonstration of angry people after the murder
Barrackpore Police Commissionerate Commissioner Alok Rajoria reached the spot with heavy police force. Rajoria told reporters that we have started investigation. Interrogation of the suspects has started. We have not found any political connection in this murder so far. After this murder, local people demonstrated fiercely outside Jagdal police station. Trinamool has blamed BJP for the murder. However, BJP has rejected the allegations.
