IPS GP Singh got relief from Chhattisgarh High Court, three FIRs including treason, blackmailing canceled

The Division Bench of Chhattisgarh High Court has quashed all three FIRs lodged by the former Congress government against dismissed IPS GP Singh. On Wednesday, during the hearing of the case, the division bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Ravindra Aggarwal ordered to quash these FIRs considering them as part of malicious action.

High Court quashed all three cases registered against GP Singh considering them malicious

These were the three cases

Disproportionate assets case: The advocate said that GP Singh had no connection with the seized gold.

Case of Extortion: The case, registered years later, was described by the court as being motivated by vendetta.

Treason case: No concrete evidence of conspiracy was found in the case of treason registered on the basis of mutilated papers.

In the disproportionate assets case, the lawyers told the court that the gold claimed to be seized neither belonged to GP Singh nor his family members. Additionally, in the matter of extortion, it was said that this case has been filed out of vendetta after many years, which is suspicious.

At the same time, in the case of treason, it was argued that the mutilated papers recovered from GP Singh’s hideout did not prove any kind of conspiracy. After hearing all the parties, the High Court canceled all three FIRs registered against GP Singh.
