The Deputy Collector posted in Bhopal has been accused of having a long-term physical relationship with a female employee of his own department on the promise of marriage. During the relationship, the officer also made the woman observe the fast of Karva Chauth, but later went back on his promise. The woman has complained to Rajgarh SP.
The SP initially denied knowledge of the complaint, but has now given the investigation to the complaint to Pachor police station in-charge. Police say that action will be taken after investigating the matter. According to the complaint submitted by the woman, she was introduced to Deputy Collector Rajesh Sorte in the year 2022 in Pachor. He was the Tehsildar there and she was working there on compassionate appointment.

Sorte used to call him to his house for cooking, washing clothes and cleaning. After that he started calling him to his quarters every morning and evening. The woman alleges that one day he molested her and when she protested, he forcibly had physical relations with her by threatening to fire her from the job.
Provided government room after rape
After raping her, he also allotted her a government quarter. After this, sometimes he would go to the woman’s house, sometimes he would call the woman to his house. Made her observe Karva Chauth fast without marriage. During this time, he took her to Kamkheda temple in Rajasthan, where he promised to marry her and bear her entire expenses.
Didn’t get married even after promotion
Later he said that he would get married after getting promotion. When he did not get married after 15-20 months of promotion, the woman questioned him, on which he asked for a plain stamp to get the documents prepared. After that he refused to marry. The woman had submitted the complaint to the SP office and SDOP. Now Pachor police station in-charge Akhilesh Verma has said that he has received the woman’s application for investigation, investigation is being done. After this further action will be taken.
Pachor did not leave even after transfer
The woman alleges that Rajesh Sorte was Pachor Tehsildar from January 2022 to November 1, 2022. When he was transferred from there to Zirapur, the government residence in Pachor had to be vacated. Even after this, instead of shifting to Jirapur, Sorate took a house on rent in Pachor itself. He kept commuting from there to Jirapur for about three months.
The woman had filed a complaint alleging rape. I have sent Pachor police station in-charge for investigation. Further action will be taken after investigation.
