Bodybuilder Vandana Thakur from Madhya Pradesh has won the bronze medal in the 15th World Body Building and Physique Sports Championship 2024 organized by the Indian Body Builders Federation (IBBF) from November 5 to November 15, 2024 at Canaref Resort, Maldives. Vandana has won this medal in the more than 55 kg category under women body building. Top body builders from all over the world took part in the prestigious competition, in which the famous body builder of the state proudly represented India as the only builder.

This prestigious international competition is organized by the Bodybuilding Association of Maldives (BBAM), supported by the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (WBPF). In this competition, India’s outstanding bodybuilder demonstrated her strength, excellent fitness, discipline and hard work, and lifted a weight of more than 55 kg with great skill. This is a proud moment for Indian bodybuilding, giving it a new identity at the international level.

Vandana Thakur said after her victory, this victory is the result of the hard work and faith of my coach, my family and all my supporters. Therefore, I heartily thank all those who supported me in this journey. This victory is not just mine, but this Vijay Ghosh belongs to our country. When I was standing on the stage and receiving the bronze medal, I felt every moment of my journey, which I had overcome not only physically but also mentally with great difficulties. Today I can happily say that I have got the fruits of my hard work and my dedication and hard work have paid off. Now I have to work hard to bring gold for the country, that is my only goal.”

It is noteworthy that more than 250 bodybuilders from 30 countries across the world participated in this year’s World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship. The competition was held at the Canaref Resort in the beautiful Maldives, providing a highly competitive environment as well as inspiration to the athletes.
