Efforts to provide immediate help in case of misbehavior or molestation of a woman have started in the government hospitals of Madhya Pradesh. For this, panic buttons will be installed in government hospitals. These panic buttons will be connected to the nearest police station. In case of emergency, by pressing the button, the police personnel will reach the hospital within a short time. These panic buttons have been named Pink Alarm.
After the incident of rape and murder of an intern doctor at RG Kar Medical College, Kolkata, concern about the safety of women had increased in the hospitals of the state. For this, security was reviewed in all the hospitals.
Alarms will be installed at many places in the hospital
Security arrangements were also increased for a few days at some sensitive places, but it could not be given the form of a system, but now the exercise of installing an alarm system in the form of panic button has started. According to the information received from the Health Department, this pink alarm will be installed at many places in the hospital like OPD, duty room, parking, corridor.
Places marked in Jaypee Hospital, pink alarms will be installed at 12 to 13 places
Dr. Rakesh Srivastava, civil surgeon of Jaypee Hospital, Bhopal, said that the installation of panic button here will help in protecting women as well as other patients. Many types of people come to the hospital, there is a fear due to this. The place has already been marked. Pink alarm i.e. panic buttons will be installed at about 12 to 13 places here.
AIIMS Bhopal has already established
There was a strike in AIIMS Bhopal regarding the safety of resident doctors. After that, panic buttons were installed at many places in the campus. AIIMS has a panic button and centralized system for the safety of women.
As soon as the panic button is pressed, the security system of the hospital gets alerted, due to which the security personnel reach the place immediately. Now preparations are underway to install 150 panic buttons in the duty room. Apart from this, these panic buttons will also be installed in toilets.
‘Pink alarm’ launched in Datia hospital to increase safety of women

This is the first system of its kind to be installed in a government hospital in Madhya Pradesh.
Functioning of alarm system
The alarms have been strategically installed in the hospital’s maternity ward, trauma center and staff duty rooms on all three floors of the new OPD block.
A siren sounds when the alarm is activated, alerting security personnel.
Security personnel are expected to reach the person in distress within five minutes of the alarm being raised.
