Now a student will be able to appear in JEE-Advanced examination thrice in three years. Till now the number of chances to give JEE-Advanced was a maximum of two attempts. This will give an opportunity to a large number of students to make another attempt for admission in IIT.
The website of the country’s most prestigious engineering entrance examination JEE Advanced 2025 has been released. This year this examination will be conducted by IIT Kanpur. The biggest update in the released information is that now a student will be able to appear in the JEE-Advanced exam thrice in three years. Till now, the maximum number of chances to give JEE-Advanced was two attempts. This will give an opportunity to a large number of students to make another attempt for admission in IIT.
Responsibility is given in rotation after every six years
Career counseling expert Amit Ahuja said that based on the assessment of data of the last 14 years, IITs are given the responsibility of conducting examinations in rotation every six years. In the year 2018, the responsibility of conducting this examination was given to IIT Kanpur. After this, the examination was conducted by IIT Delhi, Bombay, Kharagpur, Kanpur, Madras, Roorkee and Guwahati.
Students appearing for class 12 examination in the year 2023, 2024 and 2025 will be able to participate.
On the basis of JEE-Main, 2.50 lakh best students will be able to appear in this examination. There will be 10 percent General-EWS, 27 percent OBC-NCL, 15 percent SC, 7.5 percent ST and 40.5 percent open category seats. Students appearing for Class 12 examination in the years 2023, 2024 and 2025 will be able to appear in JEE-Advanced to be held in the year 2025. Those who have passed 12th or its equivalent examination in the year 2022 or before will not be eligible to appear in the examination. Students who have previously taken admission in IIT during JoSAA counseling will not be able to appear in the JEE-Advanced exam, whereas students who have taken admission in NIT after qualifying JEE-Main will be able to appear in the JEE-Advanced exam. JEE-Advanced exam is likely to be held on May 26 or June 2, 2025.
Only students born after October 2000 will be able to appear for the exam.
This year the age limit for JEE-Advanced exam has also been fixed. Only those students who were born after October 1, 2000 will be able to appear in the examination. SC-ST students have been given a relaxation of five years in the age limit, that is, students of this category born after October 1, 1995 will be eligible for the examination.
