After the death of elephants in Bandhavgarh, a close watch is being kept on the group of elephants in Sanjay Tiger Reserve in Sidhi, Madhya Pradesh. These days, a group of 18 elephants are roaming in the forest of Vyahari range of Dubri, Madwas, Vastua and Shahdol of the reserve area, for whose monitoring seven patrolling teams along with four special teams have been deployed.
This team is busy monitoring the elephants for twenty hours. At the same time, scientists of the Agriculture Department are examining the Kodo crop grown in the field.

Location identified by creating WhatsApp group with railway employees
The reserve team has corresponded with the Revenue Department for survey of Kodo fields. Where 11 thousand voltage wires are at a distance less than the prescribed height, action is being taken to raise them. To prevent any untoward incident while the train is passing on the railway line, a WhatsApp group has been formed with railway employees.

There are 4 special teams equipped with hi-tech methods to monitor elephants. Those who have binoculars, good torch, siren and other equipment. A total of 06 people including SDO, Range Officer, Beat Guard are included in the team. The special thing is that a team is engaged in monitoring round the clock.
They target farms and houses
Let us tell you that in the last seven-eight months, a group of elephants from the forests of Chhattisgarh come to Sanjay Tiger Reserve in the beginning of winter. During their stay here for about eight months, they go to a dozen villages adjacent to the core area, destroy fields and target houses as well.

Experts believe that the group of elephants like the green leaves of bass in the forest of Sanjay Tiger Reserve. There is ample water to drink and dense forests to roam. Dry land is easily available for resting. Not only this, the fragrance of Mahua in the village attracts them. They also target sugarcane fields.
A special team has been formed to monitor the elephants. The Revenue Department is surveying the Kodo fields. Agricultural scientists are investigating the fungus of plants. Right now all the elephants are roaming in the forest, there is no problem of any kind.
